Avondale Estates - "Sunday Ride"

The city of Avondale Estates hosted Sunday Ride today. The 2nd annual "car-free" event is modeled after Portland, Oregon's Sunday Parkways and is a precursor to the larger Atlanta Streets Alive coming up on May 20th. The neighborhood streets of the historic Avondale Estates community were closed to motorized traffic for 4 hours Sunday between the hours of 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This allowed cycling, skating, and just plain pedestrians on foot an opportunity to bond with neighbors and enjoy the charming community's roads without the worry of automobile traffic.
