Bass Saddle Oxfords to dye for / A DIY

I've had a real thing for saddle oxfords lately. I own multiple pairs of this classic men's casual in various shades of brown in leather and suede. However, I've been on the hunt in metro Atlanta's thrift stores for a black/tan pair for some time now. Not ready to drop $70-$100+ on a new pair from BassDexter or Johnston & Murphy I elected to take matters into my own hands.

I recently snagged this pair of lightly worn tan suede/leather Bass oxfords for $4.94 from Goodwill. I picked up a bottle of Tarrago Black Suede Dye for $5.99 off of Amazon after checking in on a few local cobblers to no avail. It appears to be a dying (no pun intended) process in the shoe repair biz. I painters taped the leather and soles and voila my favorite new pair of shoes are one of a kind! I believe more adventurous colors will be necessary in the near future.
